One of my main passions is rebuilding upper limb function in those who have lost it from a stroke or brain injury. I provide Upper Limb Rehabilitation with evidence-based practise in line with the Stroke Guidelines to provide the following:

-
Activity analysis to determine lost motor components in goal areas
-
Intensive and repetitive task training

Constantly changing session and home programs to keep the challenge just right

-
Use of techniques such as Mirror Box therapy and Mental Imagery
- Working towards activities you want to complete such as tying your hair, dressing independently, typing or eating.
I can assist in assessing your home environment by collaborating with you and finding the best way to make your home safer and more accessible. After we've come up with a solution that you (and your landlord if required) are happy with, the process then may involve drawing up sketches, contacting builders to generate quotes, looking into funding sources, and following up after installation to ensure it meets your current and future needs. I can assist with recommending:
-
Home modifications for safety, vision impairment, changes in mobility, condition decline and aging
-
Grab rails, wheel-under sinks, shower modifications, and other solutions to improve on bathroom safety
-
Improvements to steps and entryways such as adding handrails, reflective strips or stair risers
-
Ramp measuring and assessment
-
Doorway widening and assessment of accessibility to improve wheelchair access
-
General safety and accessibility
-
Assistance to access funding through NDIS, My Aged Care, The Department of Housing or other funding bodies
